Finalists for 2010 Green Car of the Year Award
Posted by Cecilia under: Transportation .
In December at the Los Angeles Auto Show the 2010 Green Car of the Year Award will be announced. The award’s goal is to recognize vehicles which achieve environmental leadership in the automotive field. The most obvious difference to similar awards is that these green cars have to be available in dealer showrooms as opposed to experimental or concept vehicles.

These are the five finalists for the 2010 Green Car of the Year Award:
- Audi A3 TDI: a sporty TDI clean diesel car
- Honda Insight; a completely new hybrid sedan
- Mercury Milan Hybrid: a mid-size car with advanced-hybrid technology in an upscale model
- Toyota Prius: a totally redesigned third-generation version of this popular hybrid model
- Volkswagen Golf TDI: another clean diesel in the VW lineup (see the picture above)
These finalists reflect the public need for diversity among green cars. As Ron Cogan, publisher of the Green Car Journal stated: “We’re seeing the trend for green cars emerging at all levels, from entry-level cars to luxury models, and even performance cars and SUV’s/crossovers.”
