An overall green garage
Posted by Cecilia under: Transportation .
When you enter Luscious Garage in the San Francisco Bay Area you’ll find it littered with decorative plants and a floor which is so clean “that you can even eat off it”. Next you’ll notice the ubiquitous recycling containers and if you’re observant you’ll also catch the solar panels on the roof.
In any case you’ll note that this garage isn’t anything like its competitors. Luscious specializes in hybrid car service and is the only garage in this category run by a woman, Carolyn Coquillette.
Carolyn offers complete service for hybrid cars. If you’re looking for an all-electric conversion, Luscious can do that, too. After conversion a car can go 12 to 15 miles on one charge, not a lot, but ideal for short distance city commuting.
Coquillette’s effort also embraces sustainability in the working place. She recycles almost everything and makes her own windshield-washing fluid from vinegar.
Luscious Garage was called “the green small business of the year” by The San Francisco Bay Guardian.
